I don't agree.
My tendency is to think that we humans tend to find a better place in life, both economically and socially. I think that this will be the case until we reach an "economical entropy" in which we couldn't go down or up any ladder.
To be honest I don't quite understand the point you're trying to make here, but probably I need to read the article you mention right? :)
